EV charging
Switching to an electric vehicle, whether for domestic use or as part of a fleet, means wanting the convenience of an EV charger to ensure you are always fully charged.
Having an EV charger close by allows for efficient charging, eliminates the need for public charging stations and saves time and money on fuel.
How we work
Electric vehicles are a key component of the UK’s plan to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. They emit less carbon dioxide and other harmful pollutants than petrol-powered vehicles, which means they help to improve air quality and reduce our carbon footprint. However, for EVs to become mainstream, there needs to be sufficient charging infrastructure in place.
That’s where we come in. By offering EV charging unit installation, we’re helping to build the necessary infrastructure to support the growth of EVs in the UK. With our service, you can charge your EV at home, so you’ll never have to worry about running out of battery power on a long journey or searching for a charging point.
- Initial consultation: To get started, we’ll arrange an initial consultation with you to discuss your requirements and assess your property’s suitability for EV charging unit installation. We’ll provide you with a quote for the installation, and you can decide whether you want to go ahead.
- Installation: If you decide to proceed, we’ll arrange a convenient time for the installation. Our experienced electricians will install the charging unit safely and efficiently, ensuring that it meets all relevant safety standards.
- Commissioning: Once the installation is complete, we’ll commission the charging unit and test it to make sure it’s working properly.
Electric vehicle charge points sold in the UK for domestic and commercial use are being regulated to help manage the increase in electricity demand from the transition to electric vehicles.
The regulations also ensure that charge points meet certain device-level requirements, enabling a minimum level of access, security and information for consumers.
The Electric Vehicles (Smart Charge Points) Regulations 2021 is the underpinning legislation.
Elecspec is an OZEV accredited installer.
